About this project

This dark Puch Magnum belongs to a Hawaiin builder who can be found on instagram as puchdesignbuildshawaii. The builder has several very nice builds, but his Magnum build is our favorite! It has a sleek design, beautifully finished and yet it does have a little agressive look.

Colour, Setup And Parts

The colour is not just a simple colour but a custom blend with cobalt blue metal flakes in the basecoat and transparent dark cherry candy in the clear topcoat. This colour, blended by House of Kolour changes when riding on a sunny day to in the sunlight.

The moped is definetely build for looks, but the builder also carefully selected the setup and parts. It's equiped with a 70cc Treatland version II kit, 21mm Polini carburetor, MLM People pipe exhaust, HPI Ignition for the setup and an egglight, EBR frontfork, Sava 100/80 17 tires and Spring progressive 290-310 rearshocks.

Topspeed: This moped is build for long distance riding with 88 km/h (55 mph) top.

1979 White Puch Magnum MKII

Header image of the white Puch Magnum

About this project

Valleyvintagemotorworks did a fantastic job by doing a ground up restoration on this moped also called “Maggie”. The moped was literally in pieces and transformed to this very good looking white Puch Magnum MKII.

This builder has a great vision and loads of creativity. The custom made seat reflects this with the awesome white stitches and the embroided logos on both sides (done by Wicked Stitches in Sewickley, PA).

Setup And Parts

This white Puch Magnum is equipped with a revised ZA50 Engine, a mild 70cc kit with original points, a 15mm genuine Bing with MLM velocity stack, MLM People's Pipe and 16/42 gearing. Topspeed is low to mid 40s mph as it's built for the hills and valleys of western PA so it's built more for torque, cruising and looks.

Tires are Sava b7 2.75x 17 and powder coated grimeca wheels. The custom made seat, professional paint and body work alone costed $1100. Total budget spent is $3600 and the total build took 8 months.

Topspeed: 72kmh (45mph)

Black Puch Magnum By Little Jose

header image of the frontview of the Black Puch Magnum caferacer

About this project

If you know Jose build this Magnum for one of his friends, you'd say he's a true friend. The bike looks simple but a lot of time went into the design of it. He intentionally wanted to simplify everything and tried to correct the lines and flow of the bike. This results in this awesome streamlined Puch Magnum caferacer build with a lot of custom components.

Setup And Parts

The metal seat and tank have slightly been raised to follow the lines of the bike. Small 3/4inch and 1inch spacers have been welded under the seat to give it the straight lines. The seat is also a custom project of Jose which he designed in Fusion 360, 3D printed and made with fibreglass. This resulted in even more straight lines.

The entire bike has been re-wired with fictional headlights, brake lights and running lights.

Concerning the setup, it's equipped with the E50 74cc Gila, TM24 carb, HPI Mini rotor CDI and MLM BK100 Exhaust which was modified to fit the angle of the exhaust port.

It's topspeed is currently 96 km/h (60 mph) but he and his friend are considering to tune it down a little to about 80km/h (50 mph).

1979 Green Puch Magnum MKII

1979 Harley Green Puch Magnum MKII

About this project

From a red, original looking Puch Magnum Lukas transformed this into a sweet looking oldskool Mag.The Magnum wasn’t in it’s best shape when the owner bought it and used to be in original standard 'red'. Although the condition of the magnum was ok, Lukas wanted to transform it into something special.

Are the decals put in the wrong direction?!
Some people will argue that the decals are put in the wrong direction. We can assure you that this isn’t a mistake. For what concerns the Austrian version of the Puch Magnum, the decals should be placed in this direction.

Colour, Setup And Parts

Lukas got inspired by Harley Davidson and used a Harley Davidson green colour. We believe that the combination of black, white and dark green together with the parts really makes this an oldskool Mag.

For the setup Lukas has chosen for a 44mm Swiing cylinder, a 15mm carburator , Power filter and a 28mm racing exhaust. This results in a good performance with a topspeed of 65 km/h.

The parts used are mainly original. Except for the front fork which is a longer, hardened EBR. The seat was made by a local upholsterer and the original luggage rack (back) was removed (the owner didn’t like the looks of it).
